I think that at the next rebrand, they simply must take the bigger space that was proposed originally. The space looks onto the Quays and the ceiling height is much much bigger. It's being used as an interactive area for tours at the moment. I think would give enough room for the new circular sort of studios we're seeing in NBH, which is how I would envisage the best Breakfast studio. If they could recreate Studio B at NBH in Salford on a smaller scale for Breakfast, I think that would be perfect.
Then there would be the question of keeping the current studio for use on North West Today, but this would presumably increase costs running two studios which is not desirable..
If there is such a space, that would indeed be better, and as for NWT, couldn't they simply come from this potential new Breakfast set too?

If it's the space I think he means on the ground floor. its no bigger than the current set with exception of the ceiling height.

Whilst personally, I don't have a problem with the ceiling height, because you only see it for a few seconds every now and then, I'm sure quite a few members would say it'll make the studio look bigger and whatnot.
Sorry chris, you're right. Of course they'd be sharing if the studio were big enough.
And yes, SomeRandomStuff, that was the space I was thinking of. I suppose it just felt bigger when I was in there. I think the ceiling height just overwhelms you with lots of extra space, even if it is vertical - which is no bad thing. Floor space is probably the same like you say, or perhaps a bit bigger. Maybe enough room for a nice jib shot?!
So, that Breakfast down-the-line shot from Millbank...
To be honest that looks less ropey than most Millbank CSOs - the usual green halo is absent at least.
But what's that big crease in the top right of the photo all about?
That's probably a crease in the green-screen curtain rather than the photo... The shadows caused by the curtain stop a decent key being generated with the chosen settings, and so you can see the crease in the foreground breaking through into the background.
There is probably some hue-suppression going on so you don't see it as green.

You'd think that the Dalek or the DTL studio camera would have a 'mask' area would you not, just around the portrait of the subject, so these bad keys don't look so bad?
Putting aside the ropey CSO, and the people 'frozen' on the bridge, and the blurred clockface... it's just been pointed out to me that the Palace of Westminster is clearly being lit from the west, almost west-north-west. So they're using a photo from sunset, not sunrise.
*golf clap*
Keep a look out, there may be some improvements made to the Millbank CSO over the next couple of weeks.
Tomorrow's Sunday Breakfast with Naga Munchetty and Adam Parsons. They are a fabulous duo. There's even a rumor that they will do a bit of Strictly tomorrow. I'm campaigning for a Parsons Munchetty Cha Cha Cha.
I know we've said it a zillion times, but Naga is fantastic on the programme. I feel she would be an excellent permanent presenter, although I dont really want to lose her from World.

To me, it always looks like the interviewee is in the river...
Having seen this live, I take back what I said about it not looking so ropey. I can only assume it's been lined up by somebody who only has a 4:3 CCU monitor for them to let that go out on air with the state of the left hand side of the screen.
