Somewhat scathing and unfair. I have very much enjoyed this week's guests on Breakfast, and all in all, I don't think they have struggled that much to get names up to their new studios. In fact, since the move, the guests have been more varied and less ego-driven than those in London. There are more performances now and people who seem to enjoy being interviewed. I really can't complain much about Breakfast's move. I disagree with this one particular article which is forgetting the quality of Daybreak's guests - they are hardly stellar. I'm sure just as many people will have heard of Anita Rani, Justin Rowlatt and Ben Fogle, compared to Daybreak's Simon Callow, and less so Fazer of N-Dubz fame, judging the two side by side.
They managed to get Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy creator) up last week, so I don't think there's any trouble for the BBC getting guests to come up North. The only problem I could see is the increase in down the line interviews to London, when MPs are in Parliament, aside that I don't think they've struggled.

But even then, generally politicians were reluctant to go to TVC and just did down the line interviews from Westminster, so no difference there. Whether or not that would have still been the case if Breakfast had moved to Broadcasting House however is another matter.
One thing I do wish they'd stop doing is using that horrible CSO with the BBC News backdrop on it, for most of the London live links - since they are doing it so often, they really should find a better one to use, or at least use a London backdrop on it!
Stuart Heritage is an X Factor Live blogger for the Guardian and his life revolves around it, he knows as much about making successful tv as the Daybreak team does. We're not dealing with Nancy Banks Smith here.
I have no idea what the answer is, perhaps someone here knows,....has the Pm or Nick Clegg or the leader of the opposition or his deputy ever appeared on Breakfast in Salford? They were all moderately regular on set in TVC.

IIRC Clegg has been there twice and Dave has been on once since the move. The last time Cameron was on was before the Olympics when it was coming from Lund Point and Bill interviewed him in the Number 10 garden. I don't think they were on much more when it was in London.
I caught Breakfast for the first time in ages this morning. OMG Roger Johnson has been taken over by Jon Culshaw doing Dermot Murnaghan. He seems to bounce up and down a lot. He does my head in and makes me dizzy. Sit still man! Dreadful.

Now you mention it, he was rather animated.
I did think that he seemed to have developed quite a good on-screen chemistry with Naga, though.

Politicians will go to Breakfast no matter where they are in the country. If they want an audience of millions of people, they'll take a trip up the M6!
