Yes, Pete. You're right. Hazel's first tv job was alongside Arthur Montford, Ian Archer and Jim White on STV's Scotsport back in the 80's, when she became the replacement presenter for Sally McNair, when Sally went off on maternity leave.

Hazel's first appearance was on a Sunday afternoon edition of Scotsport.

Liking the Breakfast Olympic set. Is it the same one that Linekar is in at the moment?

It is indeed.

Yes, Breakfast is sharing with the BBC1 Olympic studio.

Breakfast had an interview with silver medal winning windsurfer Nick Dempsey from Weymouth this morning. He looked like he had enjoyed celebrating his win last night and, er, only lasted a minute or two into the interview before "the line went down". At least they were on a VT at the time...

Wow... what a contrast from the lively informative BBC World News to the dull and quite frankly embarassing Breakfast. How these shrubs manage to get so many viewers is beyond me.

A Paper review is also completely pointless if you don't review the papers.

...and is it really necessary to have the saccharine blonde woman telling us about the "lovely and sunny" its going to be whilst simultaneously petting a penguin?

I can't absorb the weather news in the morning unless the presenter is petting a furry or feathery animal.

Yep a nice fluffy and, presumably, warm penguin, which bit her finger at one point.

Nice start to the morning Smile

Interesting dialogue between Alec Newman from Waterloo Road and Bill and Susanna. Asked why there has been the move to Scotland, Alec said "narratively?", followed by Susanna replying "yes, unless you're trying to say there was something going on behind the scenes??". Newman replied "I don't know but if there was I wouldn't know about it!" followed by much laughter. A little joke about some of the ridiculous programme-moving decisions it seems.

Click on at 7.45 this morning - an hour later than usual? A permanent change? Was Newswatch on at 6.45?
