Bill and Sian - what a breath of fresh air again! I used to watch Breakfast quite regularly but have slowly given up now that Susanna Reid has taken over Sian's role. She asked a guest a question in such a stupid 'forced' voice the other day that I grabbed the remote and switched her off. I was delighted to see Sian back this morning, it's amazing what a better programme it is with her and Bill together. Worst thing they ever did moving to Salford.

Isn't it just - I don't mind it being in Salford but the presenters are just not the same.

Susanna Reid I've never been a huge fan of but she seems to be worse with Bill Turnbull - a complete lack of chemistry between them. Louise is not too bad but I think she is a lot better to watch with Jon Kay.

Personally I think the two female relief presenters we have had (Naga Munchetty and Fiona Armstrong just the once) do a better job of the show. Don't get me wrong, it's a much preferable show to Daybreak and it's still watchable, but I much preferred the days of Bill and Sian.

I agree with the comments made above regarding the presenters. I was just so refreshing to see Bill and Sian reunited. I believe they have such warm, natural and strong chemistry no wonder BBC Breakfast overtook GMTV in the ratings all these year's ago.

I don't mind Bill and Susanna when they present together but it's not the same their isn't any strong chemistry between them. I'm not really a big fan of Charlie but I think Louise is great (still beat's me why she never was given The One Show gig).

However, I do not think they would re-locate back to London after the move to Salford. Even though many on the forum have commented on limitations with the new set, the ratings for the programme are currently still holding up around 1.5 million way ahead of Daybreak's 600,000 average. I guess we just have to make use of the time that Bill and Sian will be presenting together over the next two weeks.

Hmm... Dimly lit studio, with real window overlooking somewhat dark outside view.

Launch-era Daybreak, anyone? Wink

I thought it aws a dark view outside because of the morning rise

Bill & Sian aren't presenting together again. It will be Chris Hollins & Sian or Bill & Hazel Irvine

Presumably so they have someone with a sports background co-presenting? It's a shame, as I don't rate Chris Hollins and Bill and Sian are such a great pairing.

And regarding the normal lineup, swapping Susanna and Louise would make the programme much more watchable. I've seen a few mornings recently, and Susanna always seems to get on much better with Charlie (their quite alike - especially in humour). I don't remember seeing Louise and Bill together, but Louise is that bit chirpier and, as someone said earlier, happier than Susanna.

I'd love to see Jon Sopel and Louise Minchin on the Breakfast sofa, their presenting style on the news channel was very alike and the chemistry was always good.

Another great breakfast pairing would be Simon McCoy and Carrie Gracie. Smile

In an ideal world I'd have Breakfast with no regular presenters, with the current ones going back to the NC, WN or special news (Newsnight etc) and then having a rota (we all know how some people love them ! , Wink Laughing ) of NC, and maybe WN, presenter pairs staffing the programme in a studio with a height adjustable desk and chairs like the Olympic studio before they moved into the BBC One studio for Olympic Breakfast. Then all of the pairings that we all love are together and presenting Breakfast occasionally due to the large number of presenter the BBC have.

I know they have the "unfair" advantage of 10 years presenting on-and-off together, and being friends for over 2 decades, but this morning when Sian welcomed us to "Breakfast with Bill Turnbull and Sian Williams," something just clicked.
The programme has lost "something" since moving to Salford - something which may or may not be tangible (and 9 out of 10 people on here will find holes in my point), but I cannot be alone in thinking that the 3 1/4 hours felt so smooth today....?

I totally agree with you. I don't think there is anything specifically wrong with the programme in Salford and the presenting team but something about Sian just made it "special"!

For me it's just her attitude and how she puts effort into everything she does, and her smile, it's welcoming in the morning and even after boring as f*ck interview with politicians, she turns away and grins and it's just, nice!

I wonder if she could still smile after spending an evening with you?

Louise has often presented a lot with Bill when it was in London. She hasn't really presented with him since the move to Salford.

There always worked well together, so I was hoping she would replace Sian rather than 'replace' Susanna.

Jon and Louise have actually presented Breakfast together back in 2009, in the 'orange era'.
