Lo and behold. Hell hath frozen over.

I wonder where Breakfast and NWT will decamp to?

How early next year I wonder? Christmas/ New Year might be an easier time to share studio with Sport for Breakfast with NWT either using the same or one of the DTL positions.

Oh god have we got 6 months of this now?

This Morning is going to be one to remember

That is not a breakfast programme. Get out. Razz

On CBS it is.

'CBS' is part of the name. By not including it, there are two possible outcomes:

1: The name has been quoted incorrectly.
2: He is referring to ITV's This Morning, meaning my previous statement is correct.

Either way, Razz

EDIT: Interesting:

So something a bit like Tagesschau then, with a live clock counting down to 6am?

skyQhater's video shows what often happens with Breakfast (on the NC at least)...

Namely, that you get an awkward "presenters not quite ready yet" moment after the countdown, which I think has usually passed by the time the BBC One ident cuts to the Salford studio.

Even BBC One viewers see the 05:59 NC countdown at weekends, as BBC One doesn't bother having 2 minutes of its own trailers & ident (like it does on weekdays).

My understanding is that the new style opening will involve the very first thing at each TOTH being some sort of sting, before the first presenter two-shot. Just like during the Rio 2016 Olympics. This will eliminate the awkward pause.

I'm surprised they didn't stick with such an arrangement continuously after the Rio Olympics ended, and it's taken a further 2 years for them to re-implement this device.

Much as it pains me to say anything positive about Good Morning Braindead, starting the TOTH with an "itv" sting and fanfare I have always felt looks & sounds good. It gives a sense of a "firm beginning", which 1-2 seconds of the presenters staring at the camera waiting to speak definately doesn't.

Amazingly, this will be the first time since 2000 that the show hasn't begun with the presenters introducing themselves being the very first thing at the TOTH. Nothing much has really changed in style on the BBC in the last 18 years compared to ITV. Really, if you compare the style of opening for Breakfast in 2000 to the opening in 2017, and then compare the style of opening for GMTV in 2000 to Good Morning Britain in 2017, the difference is quite remarkable.

Not really, ident then bed with headlines into titles. Only change was in 2009, where it was titles, bed with headlines then sting. Daybreak did the same up until 2012.

Don't be silly. Early next year could mean March, April, or May. It could be much closer to a year.

What will Steff be wearing tomorrow?

I hope that Steph McGovern wears a top with "Inspecta Sandz" emblazoned across it.

I still miss the live clocks on French bulletins.
