This is what’s great about these studios they can do fantastic things with lighting, unfortunately Studio E has the real news backdrop so despite the ability to change the lighting it’s limited due to it which unfortunately means BBC News Channel always has the red white colour theme, this is why I watch BBC World News where the colour lighting is done by programme.

They've been experimenting this week:

The interesting thing is it probably wouldnt be too difficult for them to alter the newsroom so that the colouring could be changed.

• Replace the red frosted windows with white frosted windows or lightboxes.
• Replace the light up 'fences' on the outside of the studio with the double sided lightboxes similar to the ones which surround the desks in B and C.
• Create new colour variant graphics to go on the screen in front of the desk, or better still, replace it with a curved lightbox like in B and C.
• Where there are red walls in the newsroom, put colour changing lightboxes there in key locations that are seen on screen, or repaint them white so they can be lit with spotlights. (or a neutral colour like dark grey.)

All of the things i have listed could easily have been done when they moved in and would have made E a lot more versatile.

The new GMB sofa area shows a small set with screens doesn't have to look so ugly.

TC3 is far bigger than anything BBC Breakfast have available to them. It's hardly a 'small set', as it's 12ft high for a start!

No, only Sky News does them. Wink

Brekkie is referring to this part of the set which doesn't utilise the full height of TC3 and only uses a very small corner of the studio.

No, I liked your Sky News joke. They'll stick a woosh on anything. The post was more directed at Stuart.

I would say there's a good chance of some changes to Breakfast in the short term. I could say a little bird told me... or I could present my evidence.

New logo on screens and a drone shoot on the same day...

We’ve been here before though. It’ll turn out to be something for a one off special show, and then the next day will be back to normal!

Ok... for the sake of confusion... they were filming new titles. Cool
