The Express seem to have online stories about some daytime TV show virtually every day, all based on virtually nothing.
They're even 'reporting' what the weather presenter who's filling in for Carol Kirkwood this week is still filling in for her... I won't encourage them by providing a link
Wow surprised they missed the story that whoever was due to present the sport today appeappeared be off as Charlie and Naga filled in till 7.30 when presumbaly the Victoria Derbyshire sport presenter arrived.
I haven't seen the end of Breakfast in ages. How long have they been doing the "Next on BBC One, X" introduction without the endcap/trails?
They've been doing it since early this year, I think. At first it was when they were linking to a live programme, but now they do it to recorded programmes too. It seems rather pointless.

Just as pointless as ending the programme, playing a couple of trails and then having someone else say the same thing. If the marketing wonks don't mind losing a trail slot then why not?
Probably stops everyone turning over for the end of Lorraine too
Interesting video. But what’s with the hotel keycard in the slot in the room? I’ve never encountered that here in the US.
You have to insert your keycard in that slot to activate the power in the room, it’s an energy saving scheme. I’d say the vast majority of hotels in Europe adopt the idea. You don’t need to use your key card, any other card will do, I often leave another card in, in order to charge my laptop.

Ah. In the US most are motion sensored based or with door sensors. I believe they’re also triggered by the front desk - so that when you check in the lights and airconditioning are on when you enter.

I always assumed that the telly, lights etc were just left on from when they last made up the room, but that makes sense.
Not sure how motion door sensors would do the same as a card slot though, and they would have the issue of not charging your phone or laptop too.
Even more off topic, the two on that video spent the summer travelling to every railway station in the UK and made a great YouTube video series on that channel.

I stayed in a hotel in Malta last year, it had the key card thing, but also (and it took me a while to figure out WTF was going on) once you'd switched off
all
the lights in the room, then the power sockets would also be cut ! It made charging my phone overnight a bit of a challenge. The only item (with a socket) that remained powered was the mini bar, so I angrily pulled that out, and stuffed my phone charger in there. Some of these things really haven't been thought through
