I don't know for certain but I've always assumed they do. It makes sense as I believe they take BBC London during the week as an outside source rather than London opting for the 27 + 57 updates.

Salford usually take BBC South East if London can't get on air.

Do the same trails go out on the NC and and BBC 1 during Breakfast?

The NC breaks away from Breakfast at the start of the 08:27-ish regional opt, so it only shows four London News bulletins in total each morning (i.e. the 07:57-ish one is the last one that they show).

Last time that I bothered checking, the very first thing that the NC shows after breaking away from Breakfast is a dynamic menu, telling you the next three things that are coming up shortly (i.e. Business Live at 08:30, news bulletin at 09:00, Victoria Derbyshire at 09:15).

Then there's a national weather forecast (with whoever is the duty NC forecaster on that shift, rather than with Breakfast's weather presenter). Seems a bit silly, as it's less than 10 minutes after the preceding Breakfast national weather forecast.

There's then a proper actual countdown sequence to the 08:30 BOTH (i.e. exactly like you'd usually see for TOTHs only), leading in to the start of Business Live.

At first I thought they kept dropping to the start of a paused title sequence, but I don't think it works that way, does it? I thought the title sequence has a run-in, which is then faded to live?

It will be the first frame of the titles waiting to be run. Any music bed leading up to it will be played in seperately otherwise they'd have to be spot on with their timings so not to crash the titles
