Interesting that they decided to run the hour short after that rather than interview him twice. Wouldn't have worked had it happened an hour earlier as Helen I think would have been doing the weather on Radio 4.

Was the Everest interview already done or unavailable to playout?

Kind of hard to believe the presenters didn't notice a different person being placed on the couch. The male presenter was looking in the direction of the guest and when they were done with the introduction quickly said the persons real name.

Now would it have looked better if they stopped reading the prompter if they realized the mess up while it was happening?

Westcountry Spotlight
A strange issue with the TOTH on Breakfast this morning at 7am.

At first I thought they kept dropping to the start of a paused title sequence, but I don't think it works that way, does it? I thought the title sequence has a run-in, which is then faded to live?

Either way, this static image appeared, over the audio of the trailer, and did so again afterwards a couple of times. Is it the default network caption when BBC Salford is on air during Breakfast?

Eventually, it seems they 'crashed' into the TOTH with Christain and Tina, who looked rather surprised.

I was able to view it. So does the Breakfast gallery play out the trailers for program's like the Newschannel does?

I don't know for certain but I've always assumed they do. It makes sense as I believe they take BBC London during the week as an outside source rather than London opting for the 27 + 57 updates.
(does this mean if London can't make it to air that Salford line up an alternative region?)

I asked because it seems like someone was playing with the vision mixer during the playout.
