Am I alone in loving the banter, mutual respect and friendly rivalry between the two teams here?
Despite different broadcasters obviously being "rivals" for viewers, I'm sure that the vast majority of the ordinary people employed in the industry are essentially all good friends. People are seldom any different to that, irrespective of industry. I happen to currently work for a well-known high street bank (in a lowly admin role). I do not perceive those who work for any/all competitor banks as "the enemy".
I think of things like the outpouring of sympathy from BBC South West people in 2009 to those impacted by redundancies etc at ITV Westcountry.
And the same goes for myself, I work for one of the big 6 energy companies and have loads of friends that work at other energy companies and often refer to each other as 'the enemy' but we don't mean it literally.
I'm sure each company has a mutual respect for one another.
Television of course is ultimately a much smaller industry than banking and energy so it's not just about mutual respect but a bit of comaradery too - arguably now more so than ever when the chances of working for one broadcaster or organisation for the bulk of your career are quite slim. There is probably more transfer of personnel across companies within broadcasting than in many other major industries.
Is the BBC Breakfast trailer that aired after tonight's weather forecast new?
It featured the programmes presenters appearing on various screens around a family home whilst they rush around to get ready with the team giving them assistance. For example (but not quoting) "in 15 minutes we have sport but first your toast is burning".
Whether new or not it seemed to showcase incredibly well what the programme is there for and how it fits around viewers as they wake up, eat and prepare for the day.

No, it's been on for about a month or two.
Longer than that I think, seen it plenty of times.
If anything they haven't aired it over the summer when the daily routine depicted wasn't stereo typical, but aired it more during the spring, so it has been around since Dan took over.
