I guess I'm alone then in quite liking the familiarity of Breakfast being back at home in it's normal, bright, cheery, usual studio. I don't think the titles are particularly 'dry' compared to any others on BBC News.
The sport studio was alright, but I don't think it was quite as *amazing* as some are suggesting. One of the main background elements seemed to be just three pull-up banners sat side by side.

Can I just point out to everybody whether you realise it or not. BBC North West Today had quite a big studio in New Broadcasting House before moving to BBC Quay House*.
In the early 80's I did a tour of NBH and we were taken into the North West Tonight studio.
The set was quite large and the studio a good size seeing as the tour were invited to sit on seats infront of the set while volunteers were asked to read various auto cue scripts and present the weather.
There were around a 100 of us from memory seated.
Pretty much every region that has moved has had a downsized studio. In fact London may be the only region to have moved and ended up with a decent sized studio.

BBC South Today still have a large studio in Southampton, but is pretty much the exception.

Look East (East) went from a not very big and awkwardly shaped studio to a not very big and awkwardly shaped studio (isn't it round or something?) when they moved - Look East (West) on the other hand got a bigger (but small in the grand scheme of things) studio, which they make much better use of.

Southampton, Plymouth and Newcastle (who all got new or re-developed studios in the 80s) have decent sized studios. Most other regions - not sure about Nottingham - definitely downsized as they relocated.
Norwich was due to be upgraded to a larger studio after Plymouth and Southampton on their All Saints Green site. I believe that foundation work had already started when it was cancelled...
Basically any region that moved in the last 10 years or so got a tiny studio.
But saying that N6, the national news studio at the time, was pretty modest in size - the cameras were surprisingly close to the desk in pictures I've seen.
