Does the News Channel take Breakfast directly from Salford or via BBC1 (until the split)

Might be handy for them to take it via NC1 where the output is being monitored and there will be apology announcements etc if it did fall off air

Looks like they take it direct from Salford, as the News Channel stuck with it whilst BBC 1 had cut away. You see the film review pause then restart which is the point that BBC 1 rejoined.

A few technical problems on Breakfast this morning, with the repeat of the Film Review. Pictures kept on cutting back to an empty shot of the sofa the back to the film review.

I've often wondered whether they stayed in the studio or not at weekends when the NC/WN programmes are being played out.

I guess I need wonder no more . . . it seems they nip off to the canteen. Laughing

I enjoyed the timeline graphic on the BHS story, complete with logo changes along the bottom on Monday morning's Breakfast.

Are SD OB's the norm on Breakfast? Both the sports and the OB from Hertfordshire were upscaled.

Or the uplink bandwidth booked was only good enough for SD ?

Or just as likely - regional uplink trucks were used. Most English regions are still SD, and quite a lot of them still have SD-only trucks.

The NC were at the same OB site in Herts later this morning with a change of reporter and this time round was in HD.

It's not inconceivable that there was a change of truck.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned already on here but there is a new trailer for Breakfast airing on BBC One. It's a fairly simple affair, depicting the programme playing out as a family get ready for the day ahead before leaving the house and an endboard reminding us that Breakfast is on every day at 6am.

GMB won't like that. They'll be asking John Whittingdale to force the BBC to air Breakfast at a different time of the day.

Please don't associate us who work in commercial television with that moron in government. Wink
