Is Charlie Stayt BBC staff or a freelancer?

According to Wikipedia, Charlie is freelance.
And, it says he is only 5ft2, Iwhich I am surprised about as in the presenter photo, it sems that he's the tallest!

I'd take anything you read on Wikipedia with a HUGE pinch of salt, especially when there's no source/reference attached to the information.

The Daily Mail (arguably no more a reliable source than Wikipedia!) stated

Quote:

As permanent members of staff, Ms Reid and Mr Turnbull are entitled to a full relocation package should they choose to reside in Manchester, but Ms Minchin and Mr Stayt are freelance employees, so any move would be at their own expense.

It seems they've all got to be small, in order to fit on that tiny set. Thank goodness the diminutive Mike Bushell was available to relocate too

Paul Lewis of Moneybox was on Breakfast this morning, down (up?) the line from London, with the Business newsroom in the background although it could have been CSO. Looked strange to see a Live bug showing "Television Centre" as the location.

Ben Thompson is far from small.

Especially as that location is usually shown as "Business Unit" I didn't get to see it after 8 but Paul did tweet to say the lighting etc would improve - though I don't think it has ever been one of the best DTL positions.

Thanks. That is an improvement on earlier.

That position is quite often used on BBC World as well, for interviews with correspondents and guests. But usually only during The Hub segment, which, because of it's logistical challenges, makes it difficult to use N8 fully for multiple guests.

Is that position in the same building as N8?

I've got to say, although I'm still not a big fan of the Salford studio, it's grown on me since Monday - and now I am back home and can see it in HD, it looks especially good, excellent lighting/cameras and picture quality on the plasmas behind.

I can see improvements coming over the years anyway, as they do with any studio. Take a look at N6, that had some dreadful camera work back at the relaunch with a much more lifeless backdrop, but looks much better now.

Who's he ? (I don't regularly watch the weekday Breakfast shows)

Anyway, is the breakfast studio on the 7½ floor of the Media Centre ? I can't wait for John Malkovich to appear as a guest. Wink
