Possibly just a breaker tripping in the studio itself, as they only lost screens/studio lights? Gallery & Camera CCUs still OK, CCUs in an Apps Room elsewhere in the building. Radio Mics and T/B still there.

Has Carol Kirkwood moved to the North West?

No. Just one of her infrequent visits to Salford. Usually the morning after hosting a corporate awards dinner in the centre of Manchester.

She was on Blue Peter the previous day which is made in Manchester.

Seeing this picture:

brings home the versatility of the BBC News set designs in Salford & NBH. The different lighting effects used, on what is otherwise quite a bland canvas, completely transform the sets for each programme.

I must say, the different lighting and camera racking for Breakfast and NWT really does back it quite hard to spot it's the same studio for both.

When is Bill leaving then? I thought they said January?
