Female duo on the sofa again this morning with Louise and Sally.

During the UK opt-out after WBR at 05:40 this morning, Adnan Nawaz mentioned that Breakfast would be presented by Bill & Louise, so I was surprised to see Louise with Sally.

As an aside, my previous comment a couple of weeks ago about the random appearance of the 'BBC News' Box during the opt-out seems to have been resolved.

This is from early last week, I couldn't upload it as a video to YT for some reason:

Now, the ticker goes off screen during the closing sting of WBR, and the BBC News box appears over it, to be replaced by the NC logo and clock as soon as the presenter starts talking. Very Happy

Did someone read my comment, as it took them a few days of different timings to get this right. At least now I understand why it happens. Very Happy

I think Bill was due to present but was unfortunately ill. He tweeted about it but I can't link to it.

I'm guessing Sally was already there on sports duty. Who did the sports news? Was it still Sally?

Last Wednesday Breakfast presenters attended the National Television Awards in London, hence the random rota

They obviously haven't the stamina of Holly and Phil.

I expect the Breakfast presenters have to be up considerably earlier than the This Morning presenters do, for the sole reason that they commence broadcasting 4 and a half hours earlier.

To be fair, they probably would have had to left before the ceremony finished to catch the last train back to Salford. Would've been quite unfair should they have won, though to be fair they were quite happy to get nominated, which is more than a certain other breakfast programme got (*ahem* GMB).

And the programme was still presented by familiar faces.

The presenters on Thursday show, morning after NTA was Jon and Naga - which they both, obviously, were not at the ceremony. Business was with Ben I think which was also because of Steph being at the NTAs also.

Dan Walker's guest stint, lasting just three days at the start of January, has already been discussed here a few pages back. No firm conclusions drawn: it could have been a trial run for something long-term. Then again, Walker and his co-presenters at the time suggested, both on air and via Tweets, that it was simply a case of covering that week for Bill Turnbull and nothing more.

Power failure this morning around 6.19. Quite surprised what can be powered by back up juice these days.
Backdrop screens all powered down, (never had a backdrop that dark at breakfast behind the presenters since Daybreak came out of LTS7 during Winter) cameras still on, and a couple of LED lights on the grid using just enough light for a link. On screen clock still present, but fairly obvious no autocue with the link into what may have been a quick loaded report. Late roll into it and a long hold at the end.
Power back at 6.23.

I wouldnt think Matt Barbett would even consider it, plenty of 5News bulletins to present and still establishing Saturday Show.

I suspect unless the money is good at 5News, or there are family/personal reasons not to work in/move to Salford, there would be a LOT of considering going on... Not sure Matt is right for Breakfast though.
