Here she is in her early years at ITN (warning: this clip contains a classic news theme that sounds like cats being strangled. May damage hearing) https://youtu.be/5uQz04UftEk?t=10m49s
Harsh. Some of us have fond memories of that era of ITN music.
Haha, only joking noggin. I love all things 80s ITN!!

I also quite liked that1980s "News at 545" music, although I agree it was very much of its time.
EDIT: As a complete aside from the main topic, I found this on YouTube where ITN had amended their "545" titles to accommodate an earlier broadcast owing to football, when they had version #2 of the music/titles (post 'strangled cat' era)
I do recall these, and wondered at the time why they didn't use them for weekend bulletins.

She would have been great doing the Six - even if only as a temporary addition to the team while George was away.
I'm amazed the other ITN stalwart at BBC News hasn't done the main network bulletins, although that could make for an interesting announcement in the Midlands!
It's a shame that Fiona's return to national broadcasting turned out to be merely a publicity stunt. Of all the mature female presenters who were brought back, Fiona was by far and away the best, even managing to take rolling news (something which didn't exist during her ITN days) in her stride. Her skills as a news presenter had not diminished over time and revisiting that Breakfast clip from 2012 makes me realise I'd much sooner watch Fiona than some of the younger female presenters who are on TV news these days. She's a very classy lady, that's for sure.

I'm sure he's done it at least once.

When did ITN and presumably other news broadcasters thankfully stop referring to people as Mr and Mrs?

IIRC, Nicholas Owen was a regular relief presenter on the Six back when it was double headed in 2007, just after he first joined BBC News. He then continued as a relief presenter shortly afterwards when it went solo in 2008. These days he only makes occasional appearances on the weekend network bulletins, along with his shifts on the News Channel, which do seem considerably less these days.

Might I venture to suggest it's no-one's business but Bill's and that of his family and colleagues?
Anyone know why Bill delayed his departure till February?

Maybe he's calculated that he'll have enough money to live on without a job to go to from March onwards, but can't afford to quit before then?

Maybe it's worth reading this: http://tvforum.uk/thenewsroom/presenter-rota-40301/
Seems a very odd subject to speculate on.

Sorry, my post was tongue in cheek to the one I was quoting! Sarcasm doesn't always come across well on the internet, should've used the wink or roll eyes emoticon.
