I know what I've seen Andrew. I made it quite clear I don't watch the bulletin regularly and it just so happens on the days I've caught it Alastair has often been on duty.
The point is though he hasn't left it completely - and it would be fairly stupid to give someone a goodbye only for them to turn up once a twice a week moving forward.
Anyway back to Breakfast and despite the chatter in the GMB thread expecting a refresh every other week it's rarely commented on for Breakfast. This studio has been in place 4 years now and considering it was never really intended for Breakfast is long over due a refresh, though I understand the space is relatively limited.
The BBC Sport Centre though shows what you can do with fairly limited space - I think their main news set is probably the best the BBC has while their secondary set has gone from looking like a cupboard to actually benig quite nice. Although I suspect that any new look would be quite generic I'm sure they could make it distinctive enough - Victoria Derbyshire may not be a great show but it does manage to have a very distinctive look. More importantly though BBC Breakfast shouldn't be treated as the poor relation just because it's in Salford.
You haven't. The number of times Alastair has presented the evening news since he 'left' you could probably count on one hand.
