How long has Breakfast had 'An Albert+ Sustainable Production' on it's credits alongside BBC News? I dare say it's been present for ages (and possibly already discussed), though I'm normally at work so don't see it.

No this is a new addition, new this week I think.

Closing titles made their debut on 8th August - in practice you will usually only see it at weekends when the full closing titles are used, rather than the weekday style of BBC News logo and copyright.

Albert+ is basically a 'green Bafta'; in fact BBC Breakfast is the first and only news programme to have received it, and one of only four productions to have received the top 3-star status

The Albert+ Sustainable Production logo can actually be seen at the end of Breakfast on weekdays as well, next to the BBC News / copyright logo at the end.

Whoops. And I work on the show! Can you tell how quickly we leave the gallery when the 3 1/4 hours is up...!?

I wish BBC Breakfast would brief its guests on the sofa immediately before regional news cutaways not to immediately spring up after their interviews are over - thus leading to the presenters having to remind them to sit down as the camera pans out and the music plays.

I am sure they do, but let's be honest, for most guests it is the first time they may have been on television and, being human, can forget!

Bill Turnbull is leaving Breakfast in the early part of 2016 according to the Daily Mirror: http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/bill-turnbull-im-quitting-bbc-6363295

He states that he agreed to do two years in Salford which was extended another two years but will not be renewing his contract when they are up.

It's a shame, but I do feel that nothing could really top the Sian and Bill glory days.

That's a shame - but if the time is right, the time is right, and at least there will be no Daily Fail drama around it this time like Susanna's move to ITV and Sian staying behind in London.

Let the speculation about replacements commence! Maybe it'll be Simon McCoy - he still covers, albeit rarely, and there's plenty of floaters in London to take his slot. I don't think any of the random fill-in presenters such as Jon Kay and Roger Johnson quite have the personality for a full-time gig yet, but could be proven wrong.

Jon Kay, who's basically the third man, but I guess he lives in the West Country? Simon McCoy would have the personality for the show, and with the news channel going from one cut to another it might be a way to secure a long term role.

Roger Johnson would be good news, for GMB!

Will Charlie get to move to the A team, as usually it's his co-presenter who leaves him as it's usually the females who keep leaving.

Simon was semi regular on Breakfast from TV Centre.

Christian Fraser, or perhaps Matthew Price? Or someone slightly more left-of-field, like Nicholas Owen? I'd imagine Shaun Ley would be good.

Understandable that Bill wants to move on, but I think the programme will struggle (subjectively, not in ratings) without him. I've never felt Charlie Stayt was a great fit - something a little too cold about him for that time of the morning. Same goes for Roger Johnson and Jon Kay. And I don't think there is an obvious replacement otherwise.

My choice would be Simon McCoy, save for the resulting lifelessness of a McCoy-less news channel. One reporter I've been increasingly impressed with, and wonder how he would do behind a studio desk (or on a sofa) is James Reynolds. Has he presented on occasions, to the best of anyone's knowledge?

ETA: a real wildcard: James Landale, if he doesn't leave the BBC?

?? Jon Kay is too cold according to you but James Landale, Matthew Price and Shaun Ley are more suitable to housewife loving Breakfast tv. Rolling Eyes

Are you serious? Kay has far more personality and likeability than either Charlie or Naga. Who have fulltime positions.

I wasn't particularly advocating for anyone (though think Shaun Ley might be well suited, actually), but rather trying to demonstrate the new presenter could come from a wider pool than the one or two current reliefs. I haven't seen enough of Price or Landale presenting to know how skilled and suitable they are - though from what I have seen I suspect James might be better suited than you'd first think.

I don't actually think my issue with Jon is one of coldness per se, rather he doesn't have the particular easy, warm, consistent delivery of someone like Bill. Some presenters, like Bill and Louise, seem to have just the right balance of traits specific to this format. On the other hand Charlie can seem more detached from both the viewer and guest than Bill. It's difficult, though, because I don't think Dermot Murnaghan was particularly suited to the format either, and they've tried out others in the past, like Jon Sopel, where something just hasn't clicked.

One other name that's occurred to me in recent years is Jason Mohammad, who impressed me while presenting during the Olympics and Commonwealth games. He's certainly got a varied background, and has an ease and professionalism to him that breakfast TV presenters need. Not sure whether or not it would be preferential to his current work, though.

I'm not sure Naga or Charlie are particularly well suited to it either, though. Naga is surprisingly well suited to VictoriaLive, and I think Charlie would be better suited to straight news.

I'd fully anticipate it going to Charlie and Jon, however, as in recent years Breakfast has pretty much exclusively promoted from within its existing team.
