Good to know you've heard it, hope you'll keep listening.

To be honest, I last listened when you were on Tuesdays and prefered the programme that came on after you... It's was lot more informative and entertaining Wink

I watch BBC Breakfast because of the content, and not the aesthetics. To be fair, I actually think it is a waste of space to have the business desk separated from the rest of the couch area (but I understand it is used to so the couch area can be set up for the next item) As for the screen, yes can be a bit difficult, but I am sure they had the same problem down in London when it came from there, all thanks to the circular couch!

I also watch BBC Breakfast for the content, although in all honesty most of the time I'm not watching: I'm just listening while getting ready for work.

I tend to make an effort to watch the headlines and the weather, and quite often the business segment: mainly because they have an important visual aspect. I suspect that the business desk is separate because they often display statistics/graphics on the screen, and that wouldn't be as clear if they were sat on the sofa.

I'm sure it would be nice if they had a flashy set, but a somewhat wasted expense if many of their audience has a morning routine similar to mine.

I also watch BBC Breakfast for the content

Do people actually ever watch a TV programme for any reason other than it's content? Confused

EDIT - quote correction

Well as we now know, it is only 50% of a programme..... the rest is just visuals and audio Rolling Eyes

Please don't edit words out of my sentences. It's a very crude way of responding to a reasonable statement.

I was agreeing with the person I quoted, as you should well know, unless you have comprehension issues.

If you want me to spell it out for you: "I don't watch GMB because of the content: despite the aesthetics"

Is that easier for you to understand now?

Blimey, calm down! I wasn't having a go!!!

My point was more light hearted bemusment at the need of people to say they watch a programme because of the content.... when that's the normal way of watching TV!

I have noticed that I selected amosc100's words not yours for which I apologise... though there's not much contextual difference between your: 'I also watch BBC Breakfast for the content' and amosc100's 'I watch BBC Breakfast because of the content'

I've no idea what GMB's got to do with it

OK!

It was simply an intro to my comment by referring to the one I quoted . . . I didn't think it an unreasonable way of doing so.

Actually, in the past I have watched some programmes simply to see the title sequence/set design whilst having absolutely NO interest in the content whatsoever.

My interest in the threads on here about foreign channels is testament to that particular fetish, as I have no idea what they are saying, so can make no judgement about the content. Laughing
