Considering it's bumped for Match of the Day most weeks it really would make more sense just to hand it over to the news channel on Sundays and let the programme come from London. It used to come from the News 24 studios at weekends anyway before the move up, so it's not too big of a backtrack from Salford.

Why would that make any more sense? You've got a behind the scenes team working in Salford six days a week so why not use them for a seventh, rather than have to get a team together in London, who won't be used to or paid for working those hours, for one day? That's surely wasting more money than it would ever save.

Besides, the 8am hour on Sundays, when it's not on BBC1, is often BBC News' highest rated hour of the week so I doubt the audience on a Sunday is that much smaller than the BBC1/News combined audience every other day.

I find the press article slightly odd, in that it says "On joining the BBC Breakfast family", ignores the fact she has regularly presented BBC Breakfast on Sunday for a long time. Does the Sunday edition of BBC Breakfast not count or was she just a regular stand-in?

If only there was a website full of obsessives who knew every detail of BBC HR and rota policies...

You could always knock on her window given you'll be raking through her bins around that time.

Should Breakfast have a ticker like GMB & the daily news channels? GMB's is pretty useful in the mornings, so should breakfast follow suit. And what is the reason for not having one (& during national bulletins). Just wondering…thanks!

Probably because, like me, most people are listening while they get ready for work and only glancing at the screen occasionally (usually to check the time). A ticker would therefore be fairly pointless on Breakfast for me.

National bulletins are supposed to be a complete self-contained summary of the news and watched in their entirety. Presumably all the information on the ticker would be covered during the programme.

I noticed this morning they had a few problems at the 6am TOTH. The cut to the studio to hear someone shout "stand by" - then played out just a shot of the BBC News rings over the title music.

BBC Breakfast have revealed the studio they'll be using as from tomorrow morning in Glasgow.
