It was just on Reporting Scotland, Lisa Summers outside Pacific Quay saying "something along the lines of "flatpack containers will be brought in onto this wasteland, overlooking The Hydro"
It has indeed been public knowledge for some time. It emerged at least few months ago when the BBC submitted a planning application to Glasgow city council. There are plans online somewhere but I can't find them. Its the shipping containers we saw at the Olympics. Theyll be located on the spot of land between stv and BBC Scotland. The plans showed a studio for BBC one (which I guess will include Breakfast and The One Show), BBC Scotland, BBC World, BBC regions, and a few others including a couple of radio studios. The interesting note is that the studios are staying until late September, which clearly means they will also be used for the referendum. Makes sense practically. Its politically quite sensitive as there is often a sense in Scotland of Glasgowcentric coverage., and the count is taking place in Edinburgh.

Going just slightly off topic do we know if it is an overnight count or next day?

It's all systems go down on either side of PQ. The old Festival Park is getting redeveloped and Premier Inn is putting a new hotel in between the BBC and Capital FM. So the Govan Road side of the Clyde is going to be pretty chock a block with buildings and hardly any room for anything else.
