If reports are to be believed, Rachel Riley (What!) and Emma Crosby have entered the race to replace Susannah.

My own opinion it should go to Sally Nugent if this is the best they can come up with.

There was a Daily Mirror article last week with some ridiculous suggestions too, such as Kay Burley, Lucy Meacock ...

There's little doubt in my mind that they'll go for somebody already on Breakfast.

Also worth mentioning that on this week's Pick 'n' Mix Sunday presentation, John Maguire presented Breakfast with Naga this morning. He's usually a reporter, and apart from being a bit nervous, he seemed to handle things fine. He suits the role of a reporter though, he didn't look quite at home presenting.

Surely the Journalist only rule still applies here so that'd rule out Riley straight away.

I would like to see Louise offered it full time. Her and Billy make a good partnership.

Interesting article about what Sian Williams is doing at the moment. The article seems to suggest that her days as a full time broadcaster are behind her but on Twitter she was quick to rebuff the suggestion.

It's Sally Nugent & Charlie Stayt tomorrow so perhaps Louise doesn't want to do the main weekdays.

It sounds to me like typical tabloid journalism - name someone who used to be on at breakfast time who is available, tick, name someone who works at Media City, tick.

Yes I'm sure a bit of lazy click bait by a freelancer will be 100% true.

I shouldn't worry too much about that. It can take some adjustment.

I'm old enough to remember Michael Buerk's very first outing reading the news (the One o'clock, I think). He'd been a fantastic reporter and was incredibly wooden. It took a few bulletins before he settled into a role he then did very well.

Sadly, I'm old enough to him remember doing relief news reading years before that. And before his milestone report on the Ethiopian famine in 1984

I have to say that this use of "main" irritates me.

How is Monday any different from Thursday?

Given both teams present three days a week, what is the difference?

I think main is referring to them being the face of the programme, if a major event was taking place on a day that was not theirs, they would be covering it. Similar to Anna Botting returning to Sky News for Margaret Thatcher's funeral (?) and then continuing her leave before coming back full time.
