Oh yes. Silly me.

I wonder what they'll do if they have similar problems once in Salford. They presumably won't be able to easily decamp to the news channel studios as they have been resorting to.

They could always use the North West Tonight Studio? It will have a desk and sofa so they can choose either whilst the local update could come from another part of the studio.

Or BBC Sport's studio (I'm assuming they're having one?)

Many people believe NWT and Breakfast will share a studio. It makes financial sense with just the NWT Breakfast opts coming from the newsroom or CSO.

Maybe if Simon stays at TVC (or Broadcasting House by then) he could take over while any problems are rectified. I can't imagine them having presenters on standby, although I suppose Naga is familiar to Breakfast viewers, and does her shift on World around that time....

Well I'm sure the 8:30 News Channel presenters must be in by 6 and if needs must could take over. There's always bound to be someone about.

In fact, I think there have been times where the News Channel has opted out of Breakfast before 8:30 if something has happened or there's a press conference so yes there must be presenters in at that time.

But realistically whether the presenters and crew are anywhere near ready to start broadcasting, assuming they are in that early, is another thing. I doubt N6 is fully-staffed and ready to go by 6am, otherwise there wouldn't be a huge point in simulcasting Breakfast for an hour and a half.

But isn't that usually for conferences they knew about in advance? And the only examples I can remember are ones that started around the 8am marker.

Could a region theoretically take over instead?

If the same thing happens after the move to Salford, surely they could just carry on simulcasting BBC World News. ISTR that 'The World Today' carries on for a further hour.

There's even less chance of a region being sufficiently staffed to do it at that time.

I would imagine that the Salford studio will do a technical line up with pres some time before it goes on air, so if a problem was discovered an arrangement for the News Channel or World News to sustain could be put into place.

Well Naga/Komla/Martine are on world until 8 each morning. If worse happens I'm sure a reporter could rush into the NC studio and a producer direct and produce until the proper team begins or are able to take over.

Sunday Morning Live is back on BBC 1 in two weeks time on Sunday mornings. It will be interesting to see if Susanna is chosen to present again.
