Kate Silverton & Jon Kay today. I really don't like Kate Silverton.

I think they're both doing the weekend editions too, unfortunately - I think she said 'see you tomorrow' at the end of today's program. Can't imagine the weekend shift is doing anything for Kate's ego!

Whilst I’ve never been a massive fan of Kate’s, I thought that this morning she had a good programme and her chemistry with Jon Kay was good. First time I’ve seen them work together and It could be more frequent should Charlie not move to Salford and Susana get the main presenting job.

I don't see what's wrong with Kate. I don't find her patronising and I have always thought she had great chemistry when she's been with Bill.

Jon Kay is good with the fluff, but appalling at the serious stuff and that's why he falls flat as a decent presenter -he also comes across as very smarmy and full of his-self, although nowhere near as badly as Chris Hollins. Kate's okay - but she can be patronising at times, and there are people who deserve her position on both Breakfast and BBC News bulletins much more than her.

She was on national news within about a year of joining the BBC, as opposed to others who have worked at the BBC for years and still usually reside on the NC, such as Carrie Gracie, Jane Hill, Tim Willcox, et cetera.

I have to disagree with you about John, I think he is competent at presenting both the stories at the top of the news agenda and the more light hearted items. He is also a correspondent don’t forget and has covered big stories and has made a good transition into newscasting in my opinion. Nor do I find him smarmy and full of himself he’s no near as bad as Charlie Stayt and also shows a human side when interviewing. I would like him to have an extended role when the programme moves and it is such a nice change to have somebody with his style anchoring

Regarding Kate, I agree she can be very patronising at times and also I find that she occasionally comes across as awkward in delivery. Jane and Carrie are both more credible journalists however they both present five days a week and are also familiar to the news channels viewers so I would keep them where they are but have more consistency on the weekend national bulletins.

Breakfast is good for Kate, and vice-versa. She is much more suited to that style of programming than mainstream news bulletins, IMO. I believe she would be a very acceptable replacement for Sian Williams.

It's one thing being suited to a programme, but other being liked by viewers. I hear very few comments on hear saying that they really love Kate. Sian, on the other hand, has very few critics: she is used at her job, and is a friendly, genuine person on-screen.

I can't imagine watching Breakfast again if Kate replaces Sian. I don't think Susanna's brilliant, but I'd be more inclined to tune in if she or Louise got the position.

I agree totally. I couldn't bear Kate for even a couple of days. I'm backing Susanna - I don't find her that bad at all, she's growing on me a lot.

NO. Trust me. Believe me. Kate IS perfect for Breakfast. She would be a great asset on the programme. Trust me. You guys back in the UK should start a campaign to have her signed-up to Breakfast straight away.

What are you waiting for??
