Interesting article in today's Guardian. Bill and Susanna have apparently agreed to move to Salford.

It will be interesting if they go for Bill and Susanna during the week or someone else if Sian doesn't move up. I think that Kate would jump at the chance to present breakfast.

Is Breakfast still covering the Oscars this year?

Yes - a very reduced team have gone out - coverage will be Tim Muffett on the Red Carpet this year, Sunday & Monday morning.

It reads as though they'd do pretty much anything to get her to go, or to accommodate her needs. Let's hope she does go.

I'd rather Sian didn't go and stayed to host a major news bulletin on BBC One. Then Susanna would be able to take weekdays all for herself.

The only question would be what impact Kate going to Salford would have on the many other projects she does. Hopefully it'd stop her from doing them.

In seriousness though, if Sian goes I'd rather have Susanna and Bill during the week. Susanna used to be quite a cold, patronising presenter but in recent years I've really warmed to her. In regards to the weekend programmes, presumably a lot of that will depend on whether they're in Salford or London. I think a replacement for Susanna at weekends is more obvious - any number of presenters (including Minchin and Munchetty) could go, but who would replace Charlie (if he doesn't)?

EDIT: I see Kate's weekend radio show is on Five Live. Convenient. Excluding the Radio work Sian's been doing recently, might it be possible for her to swap with Kate and become the Monday presenter on the One, Saturday nationals presenter and cover on the One, Six and Ten where needs be? A bit of a demotion, but it'd keep her in London and relatively high-profile, and presumably leave her next in line for one of the nationals?

Still is hugely patronising - treats the viewer like a four year old.

Sian back on Radio 4 today, back on Breakfast Wednesday. She's called it a 'rather disjointed week' on her twitter.

Interesting thought about Sian's future, with the very high likelyhood that Martha Kearney is moving from 'The World at One' to Channel Four, this leaves a hole to fill on Radio Four

Speculates that Sarah Montague from 'Today' might fill the 'TWaO' role leaving a vacancy on 'Today'

Sian if she is intent on not moving to Salford, could fit in well on that programme.
