Breakfast in TC7 this morning - but at the desk, not the sofa and not using the breakfast background on the barcos.

Maintenance perhaps, could it last all day?

Possibly, we'll fine out at 10am!

Interesting that even though they had the opportunity to use the sofa, they decided to stick with the desk-bound weekend version.

I presume it's just some electrical tinkering, or other such maintenance in N6.

TC7 isn't used for anything on Saturdays, is it?

No but I would imagine they would set up for Andrew Marr/Politics show etc. It's a shame they didn't use the softa - those barcos are horrible.

I actually thought the Barcos looked clearer when I saw the headlines at 7:30. It wasn't until 8:00 that I realised they were in TC7.

Despite the tight shots using the Jimmy-Jib camera for the TOTH, it seems from other views with guests that they haven't yet fully set up the right hand side of the studio for the Andrew Marr Show . The wood-effect panels aren't in place: perhaps that's done on Saturday afternoon.

Oddly enough, there are glimpses of the Breakfast background over towards the corner where Breakfast is usually shot.

I didn't notice that. I thought the 'Breakfast' background was normally replicated around all 3 walls during the weekday programmes, so it would be unsual for them to deliberately change that if they were in the same studio on a Saturday, wouldn't it?

It is the same backdrop as used in Breakfast - its just we don't see that section of it on weekdays except in the wide shot weather/business handover. Now the NC is using it they are using the News At Six standard background

Perhaps that's all it was.

I see that it's now reverted to the standard NC backdrop. It's odd how you can notice that something is different, even if it's just rather insignficant details in a fairly similar background image. Laughing

No maintenance, N6 was being used for an obituary rehearsal all morning

I'm assuming they are trying to keep the programme as normal as possible despite being in a different studio hence they didn't use the sofa.

Out of interest, how does operating in TC7 at a weekend differ from N6. For example, are the cameras remotely controlled by the gallery or manned, and are there complications with a much bigger studio?
