Not entirely sure how the rumour of new titles, music or sets actually started, but I hate to spoil the fun - there aren't any in the pipeline.

I blame danslink, ginofish, lightoftruth, itvnewsfan or one of their ilk.

It actually wasn't - that rumour started I believe some time before the summer holidays.

Face... bovvered?
In all seriousness, I'm also hearing BBC Breakfast are planning a relaunch from September. More news content, same presenters, same studio, new graphics.
My money is on the one which is spending £10m on presenters, studio, branding/titles, new management.

The studio wont be the same, as they are moving to Salford, and using a real window view AFAIK. But they may style it similar, as in boxey, coffee table, and sofa etc.

Yes, but this was speculation for September, rumoured before news about Salford came out. It was supposed to be a retaliation to Daybreak.

I think that having studios with views over a backdrop have been done to death and a bit lazy. It reminds me of Pebble Mill At One (as I think has been mentioned on another thread), where they did the programme from the foyer of Pebble Mill and didn't bother to build a set.

Personally, it reminds me of Daybreak, only Daybreak will have a better view. Is Media City to have any "proper" television studios, rather than office spaces? I'll try this question in the dedicated thread too...

I think Daybreak will be a great success and may eventally take over in the ratings leaderboard and I was a BBC Breakfast viewer up until the 6th of this month .

I reckon when it moves to salford then there is probably going to be changes and this would be an excellent time to revamp breakfast .

I would introduce Riz Lateef as a news presenter , If sian decides not to move then I would give Bill a new partner maybe Kate Silverton . Keep Chris as sports , Make Matt Taylor the main weekday weather presenter and move carol to weekends also bring breakfast from the breakfast studio of a weekend rather than bbc news channel studio.

Why move carol to weekends? She's brilliant, you never get the same banter and laughs between Alex and Matt and Bill/Sian. Breakfast from the studio at weekends would be good but would there be the money?
As for Riz, I find her a bit boring...not sure she'd be that good on the sofa.

If you have the tens of thousands of pounds to spend, then go ahead.

If sian decides not to move then I would give Bill a new partner maybe Kate Silverton.

In what way would Kate be a "new" presenter?

Keep Chris as sports,

Do you not think Chris Hollins might get bored at some point in the future and want to move on? He could easily be poached by a competitor or quit to do something else, now he's done 'Strictly'.

Make Matt Taylor the main weekday weather presenter

What makes you think Carol would just go to weekends - a serious demotion? You really don't understand how this stuff works, do you? I very much doubt Carol would just move to weekends - and I'm sure you'll find her contract states when she works, meaning her employer couldn't just change the terms of their agreement like that. Presenters seem more often than not seem to quit - or at least threaten to quit - before taking a public demotion (Penny Smith would be a good example, being told she'd lose the newshour and only get to present news updates).

If you move Carol off Breakfast (why I'm not sure) you'd need to move her to the same position Louise Lear and Helen Willetts have - appearing on the NC, six, ten and weekend bulletins.

Again, if you want to pay the huge costs for that, go ahead. I'd rather they saved the money, myself. It is necessary for the weekday version to come from a different studio to allow the NC to break away - at 08:30 or during breaking news/ conferences. There isn't this need at weekends.

Well for a start Carol wouldant have much choice if she does not like it she can go theres lots of bbc weather presenters willing to take her place and I doubt anyone would pick her up just for the fun of it . Matt in my view is a better weather forecaster and has a good onscreen relationship with the viewers.

Sport - Yes Chris probably would at some point but I don't see it happening for quite a while

Kate I meant as an new main presenter but I wouldant have her unless Sian wanted to go herself.

Riz - I think she would be on the same pay as she is now and its not like its going to put the bbc in serious debt.

You mean Met Office weather presenters? Remember they're not actually employed by the BBC.
(Also, I believe the Weather Centre will be moving to BH, so I'm not sure what that'll mean for Breakfast weather.)

I'm sure I read the BBC said those walking into the Broadcasting House 'lobby' for want of a better word, will be able to see the weather being presented. How exactly that would work I don't know.
