I'm sorry but that headline is possibly the biggest load of b*llocks I've ever read.

Nowhere in that article at all, apart from in the hack's words, does Sian say that she is leaving the programme.

Agreed, yet again the Mail believe they can write what they want to write without a care in the world.

If either Sian or Bill quits, it will be a major blow for Breakfast. They became the darlings of the sofa long before they both became the main presenters.

Sian has tweeted at Uk-Radio this morning....

@uk_radio I am not "threatening to quit" and I am not joining a "Breakfast mutiny"! Thanks for your concern though

I also like her later tweet where she describes working with Bill to be like wearing a pair of comfy old slippers.

Couldn't Carol still present the weather from the Blue Peter Garden? It wouldn't be that difficult. Or would they want a resident weather presenter on set?

Well seen as CBBC is also moving, the Blue Peter Garden as it is now will cease to exist. Blue Peter, I believe, are getting a roof garden. So the only way for the weather to be presented from the garden would be for the presenter to move to Manchester as well.

Carol doesn't present the weather outside any more, they stopped that as soon as it got warmer this year.

The weather report on BBC Breakfast has been presented from within TC7 for quite some time. They decided to save money on doing an OB from the Blue Peter Garden at the same time as the business reports were moved from the LSE studio.

However, sometimes it's still done from a major sporting event, such as Wimbledon, when an existing OB facility is already in place.

I don't see why there would need to be a weather presenter in Salford. The forecasts on the main programme are national: why can't they come from the same facility used for BBC News?

BBC News won't be in operation until the News Channel starts up, how many is required for a weather forecast ex presenter?

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

The weather forecasting operation is surely 24/7, and is provided for BBC World News and some other commercial channels. They aren't simply there at the behest of the BBCNC. Shocked

Sorry, There would be nothing LIVE such as the News Channel in operation until 08.30 so you won't get a weather presenter on their own because it would defeat the object of lowering costs.

So the next place is where the weather is presented from (a booth somewhere cannot remember) but how many people are required to run that?

EDIT: Weather from World News weather presenter would have to end their shift at some point, but I think you need someone like Carol or someone familiar everyday and not swapping and changing.

Surely Stuart is saying why can't Carole present from the Weather Centre (as it's called), which is used for UK national broadcasts except Breakfast, The One, Five and Six. It's also used on BBC World News . They have two (or is it three) small studios (if you can call them that) permanently set up for Weather operation.

I'm guessing they use TC7 as having Carole in the Weather studio would feel very cold for a morning programme, having her separated so much from the rest of the team (worked in Blue Peter Garden because it's a more homely place than a green screen).

What is the point of moving everyone except Carol - you would then need people to operate the studio
