Why?
Surely the BBC already have sufficient reporters in the area, in addition to the local team. I really don't see the point of sending him just to stand in a street relaying information passed to him from other reporters.
What can he possibly add by being there, that can't be passed on to the early morning viewer from the comfort of a sofa in TC7?

It was so good to see her back with Bill on the BBC Breakfast sofa yesterday.
Kate is a real talent. She has a genuine interest in journalism, seems very personable and down to earth.
I don't understand why she always comes in for so much stick. She makes my day anyway.
