David Eades interrupted Breakfast this morning at 8am when someone obviously flicked the wrong switch and BBC World News titles rolled half way through the Sian's Brekkie intro. Cut to Eades after titles then back to Sian and Charlie on the sofa.

Interesting piece about network Continuity Announcers on Breakfast this morning. Unfortunately couldn't capture it as not at home.

You can see the piece on the announcers - including Duncan Newmarsh and Peter Offer online

They should carpet the baking tray and have some pot plants (plants in pots) or something by the sofa to give the studio some atmosphere. Any colour carpet will do as long as it goes with the scheme; it's the texture that matters.

With Breakfast only being on until 7.30 on BBC1 this morning, did they still bother with regional news?

Just watching BBC london just now and the presenter was saying that there will be extended bulletins during breakfast tomorrow due to the weather. I think they did this in February last year - is that correct?

Yes, I think they were about 6 or 7 minutes each, mainly covering snow. They might be longer this time due to the severity.

The additional time appears to be to allow for extended travel news, at least on Look East.

On Midlands Today there was an extended travel news and coverage of the snow but the weather was at normal length.

Aren't they a day late with extended bulletins, Look North had to cram all the weather and travel into the usual length slot yesterday morning.
