Great to hear and see Huw Edwards on Breakfast at 8am this morning.

Kate saying "Hello, this is Breakfast with Bill Turnbull and Kate Silverston in London, and Huw Edwards in Basra".

IIRC - This is Huw's first appearance on Breakfast..

I might be getting confused, but I seem to remember him reporting from Iraq for Breakfast once before.

What time did Breakfast finish this morning? I left before the end.

I left before the end, too, but it was still going at 09:20. The ceremony had finished by then and Huw has begun to analyse it and was interviewing a British military commander and the Defence Secretary. I checked the EPG and the end time had been extended to 09:30, so I presume it went off air then. Hopefully someone can provide more clarification.

Yes it finished at 0930. I can only assume the Real Rescues that followed was a repeat as the current series is 45 mins long, and today's schedule was back to normal by 1000.

In fact I was annoyed at Breakfast and it's coverage this morning. I like to watch Breakfast at around 0845 to 0915 when it's more "laid back", and I'm used to the next programme starting at 0915. Oh, and it would have been nice of them to put LIVE on the screen during the cermeony, because I tuned in halfway through and wondered what the hell was going on.

Damned inconsiderate of them covering a significant breaking news story, rather than interviewing Chris De Burgh about his latest album, or whatever.

It was only for one day, it was an interesting event and when it came to 9:14 I could tell they were going to overrun because they wouldn't dare cut away during the Lord's prayer. Imagine the complaints! I do agree they should have told us it was live though. The straps were useless too with just a headline and no further information. They would have done better to show the News Channel and include its graphics.

Well if wasn't Breakfast, it would have been a special programme (as with Remberance Day). Either way I think the memorial service was going to be shown on BBC1, and rightly so in my opinion

The laid back stuff can wait a day

Didn't Hugh used to appear when it was Breakfast News, occasionally?

Interesting to see they are currently using the 'weekday' orange clock... I thought the BBC NEWS branded clock was in use at weekends/holidays when they used the news channel studio?

But... but... isn't the clock usually red?
