Did they try anything special today on Breakfast? Missed the show

Dan, I dislike it when people refer to a programme as a show, a show is Daybreak Razz Breakfast is a programme.

Are the font and other changes to the on screen graphics for Breakfast being rolled out the news channel, newsnight, national, regional bulletins, etc

There is no font change. The graphics are exactly the same as they were in London, just in HD. The only changes are exclusive to breakfast and that is just new titles and stings, and new Business graphics.

So the talk about ditching Gill Sans for straps and graphics was mistaken?

Will someone be willing to send me some HD video of the titles, stings etc, and some of the graphics so I can look over it for all the subtle details!

I think it was mentioned in another thread that graphics changes to the lower thirds would happen starting with World News in September, right?

To clarify - yes there are new lower thirds for the whole of BBC News HD which ditch Gill Sans. These will first air in September when World moves to W1. The rest of BBC News / Breakfast / Regions will get the new astons in 2013.

However in the mean time, the current astons from network have just been re-created/upscaled in HD as the new ones are still in the design stages for W1. As a result, Breakfast won't look that different tomorrow.

Nick and Naga just previewed tomorrow's guests on the show, including Connie Fisher and Buck Brannaman, as well as reports about Titanic. Nick said that Bill and Susanna will be doing that from Salford, so join them from 6 for a new look Breakfast, then for a very wide shot of N6. And that was London.

Gregmc, will they animate the same as in London, and look the same? North West Tonight graphics have a different style or look of Gill Sans and don't quite animate on and off as smartly and as smoothly as those in the News Channel for example.

Also new mug design:

Interesting to see if that design makes it into the titles!

So if the Breakfast studio had a fault and couldn't broadcast, what would happen? Would they let a larger region have the slot and do Breakfast from there? Because the presenters can't run over to another studio, can they?

I suspect that they would move to use the BBC Sport studio, but maybe someone in the know could tell us for sure.
