What on earth is Kate Silverton wearing this morning? Shocked

It didn't look that bad, but she took some stick over it....

Hear a snippet of one of the new beds there, got any videos of the TOTH, coming up segments so we can hear it?

Hilarious clip. The antics of all three (Hollins especially) were extremely natural and - for once - I detected a slightly human side of La Silverton. LOL. Sorry.

Is she getting married, then?

It seems she is, from comments earlier in the week, so of course congrats to her if that's the case! Very Happy

I actually find Kate Silverton an extremely personable character on BBC News. It seems that her and Sian Williams alternate as co-hosts with Bill Turnbull during their periods of maternity leave, although they all appear to have other presenting duties when they are around.

Although the format, set and style of 'BBC Breakfast' may be formal to many viewers, it's actually quite relaxed and informal and feels comfortable and reliable because of the BBC News branding.

Surprised noone's noticed the clock Smile

Yep, it's gone back to a red background. Much better.

No, it's awful. Black was far better.

They got rid of the black clock? Oh FFS.

It was properly legible for the first time in years.

Only me then who thinks clocks are out of place these days? I'm surrouned by digital clocks as it is, even my TV has a built in clock. I'm OK with timechecks as they're useful and serve a purpose but clocks have become part of the 'branding staple' when I'm not sure they actually serve much purpose these days.

Long story short if it has to be there it might as well match the colour scheme, so I'm afraid I disagreed with the black clock.

The desk looks silly now they've made it pink.

The regional clock on East Midlands Today at least is still black. It's much wider than the network clock as well, and it's also positioned too far to the left.

I would have said if it has to be there it might as well be legible.

Speaking of which...

Better make a move.

I'd have thought there were fewer clocks around people's TVs these days with the demise of VHS video recorders and their big LED clocks. Clocks seem much less common on today's recording equipment. And I've seen very few TVs like yours with built in clocks

Seriously, are you sure there's not something wrong with your telly Gavin? The size of the text hasn't changed, and there should be sufficient contrast between white and red for it to be perfectly legible. I can see it fine on my TV and on the TVs at the gym. If you're getting a lot of bleeding on the reds, maybe you need to turn your contrast down.

When they moved it out of the 4:3 frame on News 24 though they had to retreat within days.

Wasn't keen on the black clock on first impressions, but it was a hell of a lot better than the red one. I don't know though why they don't just use the same one as the news channel, perhaps replacing "BBC News" with "Breakfast".
