I'm definitely a fan of seeing the kit and crew in a moving jib shot, but these appear a bit under-rehearsed, and the clue is that the operator has tried all morning to line up the monitor in frame and not quite hit the mark.

But I love a director and operator who try new things, so I'd encourage them to play more while they have the space and equipment to do so.

In fact, there's a pint in it for he who comes up with the best shot before they leave London.

I'll send it down in a jiffy bag.

Those camera angles certainly are creative, but am I the only one who doesn't particularly like them? I never really like to see cameras in shot; they seem to make the studio look cluttered and messy. I think I prefer the normal camera-less shots if I'm honest.

. . . and if there was ever any doubt that there isn't actually a real newsroom behind the newsreaders, that's the proof.

Who ON THIS FORUM EVER thought there was a real background in N6 or TC7 (in recent years), come on?

I was surprised that Jack Whitehall knocked on the Barcos in TC7; and that a few years ago, someone else who watched the programe (when in it was in N6) thought it was 'real' and made a comment about it on his 'Behind the Scenes' mini-vid.

I don't actually mean to criticise people who think there is always a live newsroom behind the presenters, but I think it incredible that the illusion the BBC intend to create and, to their credit, they seem have achieved it, has been achieved!

Naturally, Stuart, I'm talking about the regular viewer, and not those on this forum.

Not sure if this had been officially confirmed until now,

Am I the only person who feels that we could do with an entire change of presenters, and move those four onto other bulletins?

Bill for the Six!

Yeah, the ideal Breakfast line up for me would be Simon McCoy & Carrie Gracie for weekdays, and then Adam Parsons & Naga Munchetty at weekends, with Tony Livesay & Sally Nugent as relief presenters!

Bill then moves to the Six, like you say, Susanna moves to weekend bulletins, the Five and occasionally deputises on the One, and Charlie & Louise take over Simon & Carrie's slot on the News Channel. Nobody replaces Adam's relief hours on the News Channel, meaning they save money by having one less presenter, but still occasionally pops up on World, to please his international fans. Komla Dumor becomes the full time and only presenter of The World Today. And George Alagiah leaves the Six, paving the way for Bill, and just concentrates on GMT!

LOL. I actually agree with you!

Although, it's 'Big Komla'. Please always remember to use his official title. Wink

Something stale about the current 4 combo.

I agree with you too! There's just something about Susanna which doesn't make her the obvious main Breakfast co-presenter, IMO. She was fine at weekends with Charlie when not so many people watch, but she just doesn't have that warmth or humanity that's needed for weekday mornings like Sian did.

I think a change in presenters is definitely needed. Move Charlie & Louise to weekday mornings on the NC, moving Simon & Carrie to weekday Breakfast, with Bill moving to the Six, and Susanna becoming deputy on the Five, main relief on the One, and main Saturday BBC1 bulletins presenter. George Alagiah can just concentrate on GMT and alternate every Friday with Fiona Bruce on the Six/Ten, he's been the main Six anchor for far too long. Fiona then alternates with Mishal on the Sunday bulletins, on the weeks she doesn't present Friday's Six/Ten. Put Adam Parsons & Naga Munchetty on Breakfast weekends, giving Gavin Grey more shifts on the News Channel, Chris Rogers more shifts on World, and making 'Big Komla' the full time and only presenter of The World Today.

Problem solved!

I have a major problem with one of your suggestions, though!

Thread creep........................for another place, probably.

I wonder how/who will cover for Steph McGovern when she is away. Is there anyone else from business in Salford who could cover or will they have to send someone up from London?
