I wish they'd sort out the Breakfast Westminster Studio. There always seems to be a green hue leaking in [from the green screen]around whichever person is sat in the studio; plus the "fuzz" that's more reminiscent of the cso's of the 70's & 80's. Must be one of, if not the worst on the beeb at present.

It's used throughout the BBC and yes, it is really dreadful.

Here are camera angles used on Breakfast yesterday for you all:

This is probably the same as GMTV Summer 2010 when they had the white TV at the side and other things and would close by a handheld running to the TV? This was because Martin Frizell (I believe) was on holiday so they tried new things but when he returned all was back to normal! So the day to day person in charge may be in Salford?

Didn't Martin Frizzell leave in early 2010 for Channel 7 Aus..

And it was a Stedicam, a GMTV favourite!

No, as I understand it, ITV fired him in 2009, when it took full control of GMTV.

Those camera angles certainly are creative, but am I the only one who doesn't particularly like them? I never really like to see cameras in shot; they seem to make the studio look cluttered and messy. I think I prefer the normal camera-less shots if I'm honest.

Perhaps you are Rob! Laughing

I did see some of them the other day, and I thought they were quite interesting and different, at least. They've been using wider shots which include the cameras for a while, but these have been some of the best, IMO.

Perhaps they are getting us used to shots that will be available from the new studio in Salford. After all, they won't be able to just do the long pull-out shots from the sofa - unless they want a third of the screen to be taken up by the lighting rig (as Gavin pointed out about some of the scenes recently on NWT).

Nope, not just you.

All I know was it was after the new music had launched so could be Summer 09!

They are not just doing creative shots during the opt-out junctions.

The other day they did a very nice slow sweeping shot during the Business Presenter's interview, where the jib went from the base of the 'coffee table' up to a normal two-headed position by the 'podium' (small raised circular desk they normally use for the Sport Reporter's laptop on the NC).

Indeed. Once or twice would have been enough, but not at every junction. It was almost like the apprentice let loose in the gallery!

Sounds like they've been watching the output from BBC Sport's main studio in Salford - aka the "must use jib at every possible opportunity" studio (and if it's not the jib, the peds are chasing around).
