With Sian leaving Breakfast tomorrow (still finding it hard to believe really Surprised ), will Susanna step up to main presenter right from the off (ie. next week) with Louise leaving the News Channel and moving straight to weekend Breakfast this weekend, or will we have a period of relief presenters whilst Bill, Susanna, Louise and Charlie prepare to move to Salford?

I reckon Breakfast will have some relief presenters. Bill, Charlie, Susanna and Louise need time to prepare up north. It would be best to have a fresh start set and fresh presenters.

I'm sure Breakfast could cope with Jon Kay, Naga Munchetty and a munch of others.

Louise has said on her twitter that she will on on this Saturday and a couple of days next week.

I suppose as she's freelance, she won't need to move up to Salford and prepare so early.

Why does being freelance affect the amount of time she needs?!

Interestingly, Louise was presenting drive time on Five Live today.

Louise hasn't actually presented the News Channel since 10th February, which suggests to me she's already left the station.

Charlie and Susanna are also meant to be freelance, and I think a lot of the staff (who can afford it, which may well limit it to those on-screen) plan to only stay in Salford on the nights before Breakfast, and travel back to wherever they live normally the rest of the time. Hard to see how that'll work out for them in the long run...

I am fairly sure that all permanent newsreaders at the BBC are classed as freelance.

Considering that they will only presenting 3/4 days a week, its a very easy thing to do. Nothing new to Susanna of course who is used to spending the Weekends in Belfast for Sunday Morning Live for a big chunk of the year.

She left it years ago, judging by the amount of times she appeared there.

A couple of hours is a fairly long journey to take each way three or four times a week! Then add in the costs of staying in Salford, and all the time away from family, and it doesn't sound like the ideal working pattern.

Don't suppose anyone managed to capture it?

There's been some nice camera work recently when coming back from the regional news using the jib (correct term?). Earlier in the week it started with it being behind the other cameras (showing one of the crew by one of the cameras), with it then going over the cameras into the 'normal' presenter shot.

Has she gone yet? Is it safe to watch now?

A really lovely ending - such a shame to see Sian leave.
