Will The Andrew Marr Show bulletins on a Sunday also come from Salford, with the female Breakfast presenter continuing to cover them?

I asked the question previously and was advised that the news will be read by someone in London.

It'd make sense for Breakfast presenter to do it really, in fact it'd work better than now, as both presenters would be able to stay on until 9am rather than one leaving 15 mins early, a quick change in the backdrop/some sort of green screen to resemble the national newsroom and they would be ready to the Andrew Marr headlines at 9:01am.

That would probably work and I suppose they would have all the news items already in Salford from Breakfast.

(Also can we stick to topic, this is a Breakfast thread, if you have problems contact the person via Private Message!)

It does however require a level of staffing to remain on in Salford until 10am to allow the headlines to be re-capped at the end of the Andrew Marr Show - though on occasions this is dropped for interviews to continue. The issue over who provides the news summary when the Andrew Marr Show is earlier or later due to sports events would remain.

Also the bulletin is usually produced by the Andrew Marr team. Surely they'd want to keep producing it? There must be a presenter free at that time, whether NC, London or World?

Not easily. The duty NC and World presenters would be on air at 9.01am and the next World/NC presenter doesn't start until Midday/1pm respectively. And I very much doubt the London presenter would do a 9.01am bulletin and then the London regional news potentially as late as 11.15pm

Surely they could do a pre record for Andrew Marr's bulletin 15 or 20mins before hand?

Out of curiosity, is there a reason Andrew couldn't do it himself? I can't imagine it would hurt the format that much.

The BBC would never allow a scheduled News Bulletin to be pre-recorded.

6am (well 5.30-ish but they will be 'on duty' until 6am). World just have 4 weekend presenting shifts, 6am-Midday, Midday-6pm, 6pm-12.10am(?) and then the overnight shift

The overnight presenter works Midnight - 6am. Then there's a 6am - 12pm shift and a 12pm - 7pm shift. So none of them could really do it. (Except Tim of course).

Well they are scrapping the late regional news. But still the presenter is unlikely to be in so early, as the Sunday early evening news tends to be around 6.30pm.

I think it is most likely to be someone in Salford. You won't be able to tell the difference because at the moment although the presenter is in TC7, they don't have a wide shot to throw to them.
