Breakfast using the studio also adds in the complexity of a sports bulletin on BBC1 (Breakfast) and BBC News Channel at the 08:33 each weekday morning.

Well considering the news channel starts up at 8.30am they surely won't go straight into a sports bulletin - so could easily leave their first sports update from "BBC Sport Centre" to the 9am hour.

And I'm sure this has long since been discussed but I'm guessing from the chatter here that Weekend Breakfast is coming from Salford, not the News Channel studio as it currently does.

That's right from what we've been told from people in the know on here, so sofa on a weekend too!

I was thinking use the Sports News studio if worst came to the worst and it's a desk as well! It's the only real option at short notice. Preferably the larger of the two sports studios.

Or NWT's second studio, which is bigger than it looks - they use it for Sunday Politics opts.

I was thinking that as well. But where would NWT go, then how long would it take to move or remove desk and set up, but it is definitely a plausible option and like you say a deceptively considerable space. Sports studio is already set up and ready to go. Both options have nice backdrops, Sport having the monitors and Quays, and the small NWT studio with its newsroom view.

Or maybe, they will be able to keep the place up and running the whole time. You never hear of Daybreak decamping now do you?

They're only broadcast five days a week in their studio; Breakfast will be using their Salford studio seven days a week (as will NWT). Plus, didn't the 'Lorraine' studio have a technical hickup a while back that meant she broadcast from Daybreak's studio?

Yes Lorraine did, 20th July 2011.

Article from The Guardian about the possible effect of technical problems on Breakfast's move to Salford. They insist that the date they move will not be changed and that the technical issues have been exaggerated and are getting sorted out.

Jack Whitehall on Breakfast saying that he thought the view on the Barcos was real. He jumped on the sofa and knocked on them, expecting the people in the backdrop to turn around! He said it was like the Frozen Planet-gate!
