I don't get the dislike of Kate Silverton - I think she suits her usual roles (News at One, Breakfast) very well, and did GMT fairly well too. Not News at Six /News at Ten material though.

I disagree with anyone who says she is full of herself as has been said in the past, take a look on her Twitter and you'll see she's a very nice, quite normal person, just like Louise Minchin and others.

So she's suitable for one of George Aligyah's programmes but not another? Confused

I don't think George is suitable for the Six at all, or GMT, he's very stale.

GMT is different to the Six. GMT is geared at a World audience whereas The Six is one of the two main bulletins on BBC One. I agree that about George Alagiah, I think he is more suited to The Ten.

Is there much difference between the 6 and the 10?

Surely it requires less skill to read the news at 1, 6 & 10, they don't have any breaking news to contend with... so we could bring Moira back without too many problems, she can ask questions cant she?

What are they doing over the weather when they move to Salford? going to have it via London or going to use maybe a NWT weather Presenter to do it? or just move or hire someone to do it from Salford.

Geez. How hideous is that clock and DOG! How did they manage to get away with it for so long?

Don't they usually have Carol Kirkwood standing in a field somewhere... dont see why they cant just say she's in Salford. I'm pretty sure most people wont know one field from t'other.

She's been in the studio for around 18 months now.

Good live interview in the studio today with Steven Spielberg, exactly the kind of guest they won't get anymore when they move to Salford.

This was Spielberg's only interview, wasn't it? Its not like he was being shuttled around from site to site - so perhaps he would have gone to Salford.
