Perhaps if she moved to Salford we could see the relief team for the females change to Victoria Derbyshire, Carol Kirkwood and Naga Munchetty? Then Kate as a main presenter?

Also Simon Jack's final day on Breakfast tomorrow - he'll be leaving for Today programme on Radio 4.
BTW, did anyone else notice the same music composer, Debbie Wiseman, on the sofa earlier this week? It was only a couple of weeks back she was on discussing her career/same new album she's released. Was this a producers oversight or a keen agent at work for her?

Hmmm doubt we'd see Carol as a regular presenter - she's mainly weather not journalism.
Apparently Steph McGovern of Five Live will be covering Simon on Breakfast for the next 2 weeks, though who is taking over business in the long term I don't know.
Bit odd that BBC News channel opted out late from Breakfast at 08:30 this morning, they let the BBC London bulletin run before coming on air - usually they jump straight in.
Technical problem or just not quite ready to go on air?

Well it won't be Sam Washington as she is moving to Sky News according to her Twitter. She has also said that auditions for the business breakfast presenter are still taking place.

This has happened a handful number of times in the past - probably was because the News Channel wasn't quite ready to go on air.
According to Breakfast on Facebook - Bill and Sian will feature in the finale of Doctor Who on Saturday night. Should be good!
According to the Doctor Who Magazine preview Simon Callow returns to play Charles Dickens (last seen waaaay back in April 2005!) and is being interview on BBC Breakfast, which is presumably where they make their appearance.
