IMO they should use that backdrop on the News channel permanently. As i've said with the brightness toned down a bit and a day time and night time version it would look really nice. Smile

Are you suggesting that there is something wrong with the screens as they are?

Oh god don't engage him!

Worzel's come up with an idea, over on the news channel topic. I thought I'd quote it here, as it's quite relevant to Breakfast too.

I'd quite like to see the new breakfast backdrop as the BBC News channel backdrop - it has much more perspective to it and a sense of depth that the news channel's backdrop doesn't IMHO.

TV Centre tours used to give them away as prizes (after the 'quiz show' bit in the tours studio in the basement), and they also used to be available in the BBC Shop in the foyer. I'll have a look later in the week and see if they have new ones. Or old ones, for that matter.

The Failbox still sells the old ones.

Is it me or is Kate sitting on a cushion (or just more upright)? She looks higher than Bill (especially if you look at the knee line between them).

Also - re the clock: when passing to Look North Leeds, the clock and title strap swap places - do the regions get briefed of changes, so that there is uniformity on presentation?

Kate has had a recent back operation and this is the reason she's not sat as she should be. it was in her interview in the Mail last week. Might also explain why she's using a laptop.

The backdrop might look a bit better if they had aeroplanes flying through the sky, leaving contrails that slowly fade away. (Just a random thought.)

They do both also have cushions as the new sofa has a lot more give than the old one and it's difficult to sit upright

Have been away and I've only noticed this rebrand today. Correct me if I'm wrong (I've only skimmed) but I can't understand why in 10 pages nobody has mentioned how awful the new titles are. They look incredibly amateurish, and along with BBC Persian and the news programme on BBC Alba are clearly a pisspoor attempt at imitating the Lambie Nairn titles introduced last year. Surely there can't have been much time spent on these? There are mockers on TVF who could do a far better job. The animation on end frame of the titles is particularly bad.

I feel a little inarticulate at this point because I can't think of any words to describe how shockingly BAD these titles are. Look at them! I can't understand why the discussion on this thread is focused on backdrops and bad backs.

How much do these mock titles look than the current ones?

I think they look much better

By the wat, I have noticed that when handing over to regions, the music carries on until, the crossover to regions has been completed, unlike previously when the music actually finished, before handing over.

Does this happen when the programme closes?
Does anybody have the video, of the closing of Breakfast, please?
