I don’t see why there’s so much negativity to be honest. When it comes to the BBC I’ve come to expect nothing above standard BBC News. Anything else is a bonus.
While we could do with some proper titles and matching L3s etc, what we do have looks pleasant and is a good change from the boring look we’ve had since essentially 2008.

What Breakfast really needs is a larger studio space with a more enlightening set than a red sofa in front of a few screens. Breakfast makes up more than 23 hours of BBC News output on your average week. For some reason it’s been consigned to a sub-par regional news studio.

Allowing the programme to move away from the standard BBC News L3s to avoid the orange/red clash (VD doesn’t use the standard ones, why must Breakfast), and granting a programme that gets so much exposure a suitable home would transform the image of Breakfast from what is essentially a 3 hour block of the BBC News channel, but presented from a poorly-lit cupboard.

I have no issue with using a similar theme, it’s part of the show and should stay, The all orange graphics with the logo is nice, but the shots of Media City is a little pointless, considering there is no reference to that place in the studio ‘windows’ which I never got why. Plus the footage of Media City are just raw video and nothing there to make it look nice, plus it ends up looking like a budget immitation of GMB.

Don't worry about dark winter months as, especially, media city is continually lit up and as such titles will not look odd.

Its not as bad as this.....

Purple. On a breakfast show.

However with the "new" look its alright, They just need a bigger set.

Thankfully Brits would never be fooled into that.

Well I like the music and the wipes, but not the Salford intro. This is a case of where the old and the new don't match, especially with the NWT sofa still in place.

To be fair to them, I like it - clean and simple.

I don't think there was much hype on twitter that wasn't created by people on here.

They are obviously copying ITV by introducing a shot of the exterior of their studios just after GMB have dropped theirs.

Don't like the lack of proper titles

I must say, I'm rather dissapointed by the lack of a proper title sequence from BBC Breakfast.

I like the headline graphics but I just wish there was a proper lower third that distanced itself from BBC News.

I love the new music but everything else feels rather disjointed.

James Mobbs has done the best that he could but maybe next time he could take some inspiration from the Newsround titles he designed.

Overall, a full title sequence needs to be put in place.

I'd give it a 5.5/10.

I'm wondering whether or not there was more planned or created in terms of the L3s. It seems quite strange that some aspects of the L3 have been changed whilst other part haven't.

L3s?
