This is what the studio looks like for NWT. Will sadly be back to normal tomorrow.

The bottom shelf of the bookcase being behind the mantlepiece isn't totally counter-intuitive or anything... Rolling Eyes

Also, surely something like "patterned wallpaper" or "wood panelling" would be a better surround than that plain steely blue/grey?

So are they going to build the fireplace every night? I’m guessing takes what 15 minutes.

I’ve seen a fireplaces surrounded by a bookcase/shelving.

The One Show did something similar. Shocked

WHY?

I live in a 20 year old house which, like many others 20 years older, don't even have a "chimchineree-choo" to stuff a child up with a sweeping brush, never mind a fake fireplace. Very Happy

It will have been a one off for the last full length programme of the year

Let's get this presenting over Christmas thing straight - main presenters are more likely to be able to negotiate their contracts to miss out Christmas and New Year. Louise wouldn't be doing Christmas day if she hadn't gone on leave for 3 weeks or so. Emergency services need loads on the job, not just one presenter, so people are more likely to work on Christmas day.

I think you’ll find that Breakfast has actually been singled headed by one of the main presenters on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day every year. Bill Turnbull frequently did it and I’m pretty sure that Louise has done so before.
Stuart, London Lite and Custard56 gave kudos

Indeed. Pretty sure I remember watching Bill Turnbull and Naga Munchetty, amongst the others, presenting Breakfast single-headed over the festive period in previous years.

I think it's the first year than Christmas Eve and NYE have been solo?

Think at least one of them was last year and last years radio times was not particularly accurate so may not actually be single headed in any case.

Nope as they were both single headed last year although they hadn't been single-headed prior to last year.
