No end to the 'title sequence' graphics at the end of the 06:00 TOTH today, but momentarily blank background screens in the studio instead.

Just wondering why they haven't added some AR elements to the set, like the recent BBC world cup set, giving the whole room some artificial space to breathe? A simple opaque celing / roof that could transition from night to day, without the usual issues a real view would cause, could be a simple improvement?
AR will need camera tracking. If I remember correctly, 'The Papers' AR uses tracking data from the Furio system to feed the graphics. I think the Breakfast studio still uses manual cameras so would need a tracking system fitted as well as the AR elements. Probably not the appetite to invest for that at the moment.

The Match of the Day studio for the World Cup did the fake ceiling thing very well I thought and is a good example of how well this can work - very subtle and something I completely failed to notice the first few times I saw it on screen!
Goodness I'd forgotten how dumbed down GMTV was judging by that video - like a tabloid on TV. Paris Hilton, Nancy Del'Olio, surgery gone wrong - clearly tackling the heavy news items of the day. And the lead item would've fitted right in on a Mail front page 'Parents too afraid to let kids play outside!'.
