I really sympathise with Sir David here. As he quite clearly states, he was asked to be on the programme to talk about butterflies. Naga was obviously trying to move him towards some sort of scoop about the Queen which shows disrespect to both Sir David and the Queen. It is well known that the Queen rarely, if ever, voices any sort of opinions on issues and has retained impartiality for over 60 years. Quite rightly, Sir David was probably reluctant to divulge information imparted to him during what was a personal, private conversation.
I really do not rate Naga Munchetty at all. She comes across terribly on Breakfast and seems to think that she's some sort of Paxman. This is Breakfast, not Newsnight. All that interview called for was a cosy early morning chat about butterflies. Not a grilling about his conversation with the Queen.
I try and swerve Breakfast as much as possible these days. It really is a poor programme and nowhere near as good as it was several years ago. The programme's "personalities" are the problem, in my opinion, not so much the content.

Totally agree with all that. It’s a miserable show to watch. Don’t understand the ratings.

Naga isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, and often forgets the rule, when you’re in a hole, FFS stop digging
Surely you do the butterflies first, then ask your other questions, and dump out if he doesn’t go for them?

Whilst the interview was awkward, she did start by talking about the butterfly count. She did two/three questions before trying to move on to other things which was where the problems began and she should have probably have stuck to the butterflies for a bit longer, although saying that I’m not sure how many questions you can ask about them!

Probably a relief for those who can't stand The Piers Moron Show on ITV.
As for Breakfast, it does feel as if it's plodding on at the moment. The pairing of Naga and Steph earlier in the week didn't work for me, but while it's still beating GMB despite the opinionated right-wing co-presenter adding viewers, they can use any generic presenter and it'll keep on going.

Hmm...his leanings towards a certain American megalomaniac and his opinions are that of the right.
In any case, conservative presenters have always added ratings, especially in America.

No adverts. No competitions. A roughly 30 minute schedule that gives you news, weather, local news, local travel and weather - basically all you need to know to start your day. Breakfast has presenters with the credibility and skills to do both a hard news item and a soft feature without you batting an eyelid. Louise Minchin in particular is a huge asset to the show.
Breakfast is also gentler with nothing to in your face and frenetic or busy before you've had your first cuppa.
