I believe the clock is generated live using Viz so shouldn't matter if the TOTH is early or late
The first presenter shots on this morning's BBC Breakfast (after both the 1st and 2nd titles stings) were split-screen.
Louise Minchin on the left, on the Salford studio sofa. Charlie Stayt on the right, stood outside Parliament. Labelled as "Studio" and "Westminster", respectively.
It all felt a bit "Beyond 100 Days".
The 1st sting did not start with the big clock in the middle ticking over from 05:59 to 06:00.
I seldom see BBC Breakfast, as I usually leave for work before 6am. Has there been any previous variance in whether or not the big clock appears during the 1st sting, or has is been permanently dropped at some point?
If weekend TOTHs are still routinely late, I can certainly understand a clock-less version being used then.

I believe it is generated live. One day last week we had an 08:03 TOTH.

Chris Cook has confirmed that it is live. But that wouldn't preclude having a facility to suppress the clock display if the timings are out and you don't want to draw attention to it

Yes - you could easily have a live VizRT rendered title sequence with a live clock and a pre-recorded title sequence from server as an option or backup.

Apologies to all, that my initial post was unclear.
I had indeed already realised/assumed that the clock in the 1st sting "titles" was live, and would therefore show the current time.
My point was indeed that they may prefer to use a clock-less version when the TOTH is late, to avoid drawing attention to the delay.

Just for fun...
Remember when Mike Bushell fell into the pool at the Commonwealth Games?
Well today, he was in my village attending our Scarecrow Festival, and I kinda persuaded him to get wet again...

Wow - talk about getting personal.
Mike has showcased so many sports at this stage that without his enthusiastic efforts would never got to see the light of day on tv.
As another poster says that's getting pretty harsh.
