Only 1 more Sunday to go before the Match of the Day repeat is back thank goodness!
And to celebrate that BBC1 is extending the simulcast with the News Channel until 10:30 next Sunday.

Something I've often wondered (because I have nothing better to think about) - why is Breakfast listed as "BBC News" on the News Channel EPG between 0900-1000 on a Saturday, when it runs through until 10am?
RO
Just thinking about the current pool of BBC Breakfast presenters - I’m not sure there’s ever been a time in the history of BBC Breakfast when they’ve had such a large group of very competent presenters that they can rotate. Plenty of talent there and some up and coming faces who could go on to bigger things (eg. Tina Dahely, Victoria Fritz, Ben Thompson). Anyone missing?
Women:
1. Louise Minchin
2. Naga Munchetty
3. Steph McGovern
4. Sally Nugent
5. Tina Dahely
6. Rachel Burden
7. Victoria Fritz
8. Nina Warhurst
Men:
1. Dan Walker
2. Charlie Stayt
3. Jon Kay
4. Ben Thompson
5. Christian Fraser
6. Roger Johnson
7. Chris Mason

Hardly earth-shattering but just switched on to Breakfast and I see that Jon Kay is tie-less - is this the first time (outside of Breakfast Time in the 1980s) that a male Breakfast presenter has hosted without wearing a tie?
Edit: Dan Walker, who appeared to do his Saturday plug for Football Focus, just joked that Jon Kay was going tie-less because Breakfast is currently without a "boss", in an interregnum period, and they could do what they want. Coincidentally, outgoing Breakfast editor Adam Bullimore was interviewed in Newswatch last night / this morning as the new Head of BBC Weather. I believe the new Breakfast editor starts late September.

It’s an utter outrage! I refuse to watch Breakfast again until the ties are reinstated.

Just like the female presenters, the male presenters should be allowed to wear what they like within reason. Good for Jon Kay.

Oh I saw that. Defending an over enthusiastic Tweet Louise Lear had made (which had implied the recent record breaking temperatures were A Good Thing). I just wish these BBC suits would say, 'yep, she really shouldn't have tweeted that, I've had a word, and it won't happen again';
Because it won't.

Can we bring back the "Doctor's Waitingroom" studio please...
I think you'll find that it was an Albanian Dentist's Waiting Room ( (C) Jeremy Bowen), actually!
(By the way, what is this strange single-word "Waitingroom"? Is it something from the same alt-universe as a Busstation, a Diningtable, a Curtainrail, or a Baseballcap?)
