Fiona?
Yes, as in Fiona Bruce
The person who was named 'Newscaster of the Year' at the 2003 Television and Radio Industry (TRIC) Awards and is the recipient of the Michael Elliott Award for Television Presentation 2003.
I wonder if Sian or Jane have been given such prestigous awards.

Yes, well just because you think the sun shines out of Natasha's arse, doesn't mean she is the best newsreader since Sue Lawley. Good as though she is, i would rate lower BBC News anchors higher than Ms Kaplinsky.
EDIT - And just because certain presenters haven't been given awards doesn't mean they aren't good.
Has the *adorbale*
Ms Kaplinsky ever won News presenter of the year? No. It really is quite embarrasing some mornings watching her stumble over words.

I agree with South Today and Winifred: Sian is one of the BBC's best newsreaders. She was fantastic on the One on Wednesday!

Me thinks you got mixed up. Winifred doesn't like Sian, just Natasha, and Fiona, and Moira becasue they're all soooo *fab*

I don't understand what's so good about Fiona Bruce. She's only once a week (mostly) and isn't 'hard' enough for the ten. She's a better newsreader during the daytime but I'm surprised she won an award.
Following up on that, when are the TRIC awards again - it was almost a year ago now since the last lot?

Are you joking? Some people on this forum complain that she's too hard as can be seen by the following quotes.
Blimey! she just can't win.
She's the best female on BBC News after Moira and is very good on the Ten. So who do think is the hardest/best female Newsreader?

No she hasn't yet, but she will you mark my words. Also, she doesn't make that many mistakes compared to some of other Newsreaders.

glad someone mentioned Ms Raworth - how did she get that job? She's v mumsy, patronising tone and i agree with winifred would be more suited to newsround. I did, however, like her on Bfast.
Natasha could do just as good a job but i think she's going to be on breakfast for the foreseeable future and it's not too bad a job - it's a fourday week and she's now on air from 6.30 rather than 6am and the money's v good - i do groan when i hear her moan about the early starts - she used to get up at 3.20 am for the 6am start so surely now it must be 4am for the 6.30 am start but in interviews she still quotes 3.20 am. Doesn't ring true somehow.

Like who? She is one of the worst BBC news casters for stumbling over words. Sian, Jane, nor Fiona do it as regularly as Ms Kaplinsky.
Her at Sky is quite crap mind you for saying something wrong.
