Someone forget to tell the regions the opt-in time, or did someone get it wrong - both BBC Scotland and BBC NI ended their last Breakfast bulletin - at least 20 seconds too early - with the presenters left on air, until the opt back to London for the Breakfast closing titles.

I believe the Breakfast director failed to call the opt back for the Nations & Regions at the end of their two minutes, and just left them on-air for another minute. Lord knows why.

Oh, and another thing... what was going on with the TOG graphics this morning on BBC One? The very bottom of all the graphics was missing, so the bottom of the clock text was flush with the bottom of the tower, and the descenders on y's and g's, etc were cut off.

Same problem that BBC World often has, especially noticeable on the WBR supers.

Same problem happened on Spotlight. We got the newsreader shuffling her papers around for a bit and then it cut to a promo for the BBC Radio Devon Saturday sport programme before cutting back to the Breakfast end sting.

I know its off topic, but you are quoting a friend of mine in your sig. That line was uttered by Alex Macavoy in "The Wall" wasn't it?

He taught me yoga, you know.

Yeah, I took it from the 12" version of "Another Brick In The Wall"... great tune!

And of course BBC Leeds being BBC Leeds, they cut back to London anyway so crashed into BBC London.

Did that crash Hull back too? ISTR reading here that Hull can't opt unless Leeds have.

I read an article on the Net which stated that (within the confines of News and Current Affairs), Richard Whitmore (pictured above on the set of News After Noon with Moira) was the longest serving BBC Presenter ever (with continuous service), even ahead of Richard Dimbleby and Robin Day and so on, as they came to tv broadcasting rather late, and has also enjoyed spells at ITN and Reuters, etc. This even takes into account other stalwarts (Baker, Kendall etc) who had retired earlier.

Richard left the BBC several years back, and by my reckoning, Moira Stuart must now be the longest serving (continuous service) TV PRESENTER (News and Current Affairs) IN THE BBC'S ENTIRE HISTORY!!

Can anyone confirm that this is indeed the case, or am I overlooking someone obvious?

I know that there are people around who have done many years at the Beeb (Humphrys - now on radio // David Dimbleby - had a spell away from broadcasting // Peter Snow - semi retired and was also on the other side for a while // David Frost - gone, but also channel hopped for years........), but IIRC Moira is now officially the longest serving presenter.

The lady is a legend.

Something makes me think Helen was prepared to go outside on this morning's 0615 weather. *Knitted cardigan*

... and the wideshot at the BOTH 0630 is quite tight. Wondering what we'll see throughout the programme - there may well be less space in t'studio now. Wonder if we'll see Moira in the nationals set - that'll get BBC WORLD excited...

EDIT: Yup, we're using nationals set - but quite a poor shot. Will pop a cap up at 0700

Some rather quick phone pics, but you'll get the idea hopefully.

First off there seems to be a better twoshot with Bill and Sian this morning

And of course, Moira's newsdesk

please don't

Anyhow, it would appear they've binned Moira's "proper" set and shoved the national one there. Presumable they'll shove the plasmas along when they need them

What I'm wondering about is how they plan to do the 10 and newsnight. Will they move the regional news so they can have a clean opt? Surely they can't use the studio for two shows at once
