Interesting that Kate is down to present this weekend - considering she has been covering all week I doubt that we will see her. Baring in mind that N24 are short of presenters, perhaps we will see the return of Jules Botfield presenting, as I can't think of anyone else who could present.

Really nice feature at 7.50am this morning with Kate standing up in the area between the sofa and the newdesk, complete with Judith Chalmers and an easyjet hand baggage stand. Full shot of an empty newsdesk behind Judith, with no chair behind it. But how I would have loved to see Moira sitting there, watching all this in awe in the background!

They seem to be having so much more fun in TC7 these days - spose they wont be there for that much longer.

It was nice to see a bit of variety and different use of camera shots in this piece and I for one am glad that they are using that large floor space for something. I am also liking the ending shots of the programme at the moment as well - a zoom out on the sofa area slowly panning across from one side to the other.

I think it would have been funny had Moira been sat at the desk as she would have looked rather stupid just sat there staring. One thing I have noticed is that Moira is beginning to stay behind the desk for less time as is seen with the opt-outs - if Moira is present then we see the large studio with Moira sat at the desk, if not then a nice looking shot of the sofa area.

And there was me thinking Moira sat there for the entire 3 hours of the programe, overseeing everything from her little island.

She's so un-BBC it's quite untrue, though.

Couldn't agree more! The accent, the clothes, it's just great to see on a morning. Who cares if that article which described her as a manipulative monster is true, I think she's a breath of fresh air (despite being around for a while).
How did her big role at BBC News start, was it last year when she filled in for Jane Hill? If so, how did she move from entertainment shows to News 24? Past experience or good agent?

Also, I see Declan has a 'bizblog' now - Declan's Biz Blog

is that his?

No - unless Declan also writes a blog called "Obey me I is your new dictator".

Declan really ought to go back to the Stock Exchange and just stay there...

I think she started on News 24 working with Jon Sopel as maternity cover for Louse Minchen when they did the 7 till 11 shift. She did co present some talk show on Sky News on days when the Littlejohn show was not on, I think it was alternate nights or something. I didn't watch it incase I caught sight of that tosser by mistake

Aye, I think it only ran for a few months in the 9am-10am slot. But AFAIK it was her first proper appearance on the Beeb - correct me if i'm wrong, though.
